TRSN is an independent label, promoter and agency born in Melbourne (Naarm) but now based in Europe and belongs to shape the high-energy edge of techno. Blame The Mono, who is deeply lodged in the Berlin scene, takes the mantle here across four expressive sounds that look outside the usual realms for their inspiration. ‘Apito Nation’ is high speed and tightly knotted with mad drum fills and Spanish spoken words and whistles cranking up the heat. ‘Slice The Show’ is boisterous and big on character with its speedy, seedy drum loops and ‘Intercept The Transmission’ spins out into Europe dance and trance madness with a hyperactive rhythm and warped pop vocals. The two closers are just as compelling collisions of bounce, hard techno and fun sampling. Imaginative stuff executed well.
