Zykr EP – Vault 15

A five-track EP from crustacean sensation Lobster, now a cool-looking cap-wearing fixture of the Amsterdam scene, thanks to his residencies at local venue Orphic and latter membership of Vault Sessions. Now debuting on the latter’s label, ‘Zykr’ wastes no time with its various sequenced knocks and gruff jacks, established with ease on first grumblers ‘Silver Sally’ and ‘Fenris’. ‘Multishot’ is the B-side unsettler of choice, meanwhile, bringing four-to-the-floor claps and the outlines of beasts glimpsed in the shadows, real or otherwise.
