Unfailing Love – Kalahari Oyster Cult 80

Uruguayan electro expert Michelle joins the Kalahari Oyster Cult ranks with ‘Unfailing Love’, a four tracker of 303 madness and simultaneously the 80th release on the fabled label. On ‘More Sexy Than Me’, breakbeats crash through a whirring synth line and chopped vocal chants, producing a rousing peak time number. Cruising into ‘Is It Me’, sexy percussion prances around guttural squelches and cycling synths resulting in more of a deep cut, before ‘Non Notes’ smacks you in the face with some large electro action, mimicking the sounds of a robotic warehouse coming to life when you aren’t looking. Finally, ‘Open the Door’ samples a Slipknot track, which eagle-eared listeners will recognise from her ‘Blackout Uprising’ album, to create a incredible and thumping track which is sure to induce many noise complaints from neighbours of dingy clubs or sun-soaked fields.
