Virton (remastered) – Music Man 77

Dutch stalwart Steve Rachmad is as well known under his own name as he is under powerhouse aliases like Sterac and Ignacio, which is where he turns now to resurrect a 1996 classic. ‘Virton’ has had a fresh remaster to beef it up for modern floors. It’s a classy tune that doesn’t rush, instead, it wallows in a mid-tempo groove, and the movement comes from the endlessly looping synths that bubble just above the dusty kicks. It is served up with a remix from the CLR label head and longtime dark techno lord Chris Liebing, who wrings much more menace and moodiness out of the original.
