Where I Wanna Be – Truncate 7 03
Truncate lanza la tercera referencia en siete pulgadas de su sello homónimo con dos temarracos originales.
Truncate’s techno kicks are thought of as highly as Kerri Chandler’s house kicks. They boom through a system and envelop entire clubs without ever sounding too loud or in your face. They are back in full force here and anchoring another pair of acid workouts for this third 7″ in the ongoing series to celebrate his label’s 15th anniversary. ‘Where I Wanna Be’ is a mini psychodrama with paranoid vocals, swigging drums and pinging kicks all run through with wobbly 303s. ‘Where’s My Mind’ is more unhinged, off-grid and prickly as the acid gurgles and spits in between the wet, reverb-drenched hits and militant, sheet metal snares. Deep acid brilliance.
