The UK’s Scott Kemix sits at the forefront of the acid and hard techno scene and once you hit play on this new EP for Cluster, you will need no further proof of that. ‘Hydro Suckers’ is a lizard of rave synths and dense noise with hammering kicks at the heart of it all. ‘This Is How We Rock’ is another straight-up wall of fuzzy, synth-laden techno with unrelenting vocal mantras. ‘Ultra Funkula’ keeps the intensity levels high with more abrasive surfaces brushing up with loopy, churning kick drums. ‘Big Acid’ is just that – a potent wall of whirring, buzzy techno with industrial grit and grime and mangled flashes of acid all making for pure techno fire.
