Greek producer AgainstMe sounds at his most compact and precise with this one for the, by now, well-seasoned Key Vinyl label. The four cuts all navigate the space between dark and bright dancefloor moods with some smart sound design imbuing clear rhythmic structures with subtle variations in mood. The stripped-back instrumentation of ‘Underneath The Table’ allows the howling synth winds to really do their thing. ‘K4PSA’ is excitable and barely contained with a buzzy bee lead trapped inside loopy drums that churn at pace. ‘Dubora’ is much more chill with cosmic pads sketching out an event horizon over a drum that bubbles rather than boils. ‘Terminal 9’ has an impending sense of doom as melodic daubs ping back and forth and introverted chords suggest there is no way out of there.
