Earlier this year, life partners and long-serving European electronic underground heroes Steffi & Virginia delivered their second collaborative album, Patterns of Vibration, a set whose fizzing and forthright dancefloor workouts were frequently presented as songs. To please the «no vocals please» crowd (a notable number within DJ culture), they’ve also been dropping EPs featuring instrumental alternatives, of which this is the second. The pair first serve up the acid-clad, starry synth-sporting basement pleasure of ‘Stab Stealer (Instrumental)’, before leaning further into the Motor City techno influences on the far-sighted dancefloor futurism of ‘Walk With Me’. ‘4-Hit’ is darker and more driving with subtle nods to classic UK bleep & bass, while ‘On Release’ is synth-bass-propelled intergalactic tech-house of the highest order.
