Soma 35.1 – Slam Remixes – Soma 700
Mark Broom, Fjaak, Vril y Linear Phase remezclan a Slam para la referencia número 700 de su mítico sello.
Soma Records’ 35th anniversary remix campaign begins with label founders Slam, whose ‘Vapour’ and ‘Program’ have always occupied a much distinguished place in the Glasgow institution’s formidable catalogue. Here, the four producers are invited to reinterpret them, and, mercifully, no one settles for the obvious route. Mark Broom inaugurates proceedings with his characteristically tensile reading of ‘Vapour’, before Berlin’s FJAAK lend it a more bruising warehouse complexion. Vril then draws ‘Program’ into deeper, more fathomless territory, then Linear Phase concludes with the kind of chiselled, floor-facing precision that has always sat comfortably within Soma’s sonic orbit.
