Splits 01 – Clergy 39

Straight up business form Clergy as always there with Kabay and Hyden taking one side each of the label’s latest 12″. Kabay goes first with the pumping rhythms of ‘Pneumatic,’ which are topped by a call and response between two dark synth motifs. ‘Morph’ is a now low key sound that prowls around the edges of a primordial soup and ‘Unspoken’ steps things back to a simple knocking drum pattern with ghoulish sounds bringing it to life. On the flip, Hyden follows a similarly stripped-back, rhythm-first approach with just as much eerie cinematic tension and futuristic sound design.
