Train Dreams – Vault 13

13th release on Vault Records, the imprint of Amsterdam’s Vault Sessions organisation, and a logical landing pad for Munich-born producer Toobris, who’s spent time in Berlin and Amsterdam and runs his bookings through Vault’s own agency. His previous homes Grab The Groove, Liberta Records and Raw have provided a consistent picture of his movements so far: groovy, percussive, bouncy techno with soulful basslines of the Amsterdam school. ‘Train Dreams’ arrives as a double 12″, which gives more room than Toobris usually takes, as the ilk of ‘Where The Wind Blows’, ‘The Golden Rule’ and ‘Four Seven Eight’ provide a chromatic view of techno’s various paces and possibilities; somtimes the tempo runs so fast we can barely keep up.
