Sons of Hidden will not be so hidden for much longer because this is the sort of techno that’s going to cut right through to the heart of the best dance floors and most tastemaking record bags. Fittingly for tunes roasted on an Icelandic label, there is an ice-cold aesthetic to the pared-back deep techno opener ‘Andes’. The energy ramps up on ‘Besos De Mi Raza’ with its hurried percussive lines and scurrying bass. ‘Mamba Of Miles ‘ then ditches planet earth for a trip to the outer edges of our galaxy, where solar winds blow and distant dark holes lure you in deep. ‘Transition’ closes with the sort of funky menace that gets anyone going.
