For A Better Understanding Remixed – Resin 10

Jake Woodhouse aka Pris has been on our most wanted list since that pair of Avian bruisers appeared last year, and we knew that a lot more quality was yet to come from the shadowy techno producer. Thankfully, our wishes have been fulfilled thanks to this excellent remix EP of the man’s most recent EP for London’s Resin, the sublime For A Better Understanding.

The selection of remixers on the helm is painfully impressive, starting with Blawan’s re-imagination of «Dodeca», now a brooding, eerie slice of techno power filled with the artist’s signature sample swagger on the vocals. Ilian Tape casual Stenny drops a load of rolling punches and maleficent sonics on his remix of «Reef», while Avian top-dog Shifted launches an all-out nuclear attack of granular synths on what used to be known as «Devil In The Detail», but the ace of spades comes from the lesser known Reeko, whose reincarnation of «Reef» will place a noticeable chill down the backside of any techo raver.
